Pat Gavin

Pat Gavin has worked in the television and film industries since 1967. He has worked variously as an illustrator, graphic designer, animator, animation director, as a virtual digital set designer and occasionally as a live action director. He has won numerous international awards, including four BAFTA’s as a designer and as an animator/animation director.

Pat won The Artist & Illustrators Landscape Artist Of The Year in 2010. Pat is now painting landscapes and portraits and running painting and landscape courses at Flatford Mill. He is planning courses in his North Norfolk studio, to be announced shortly.

Painting has always been Pat’s first interest and during his time in television he has made portraits of John Betjeman, Leonard Bernstein, Michael Tilson Thomas, Melvyn Bragg and Sting. He pioneered the translation of traditional painting techniques into the world of the computer; recreating the styles of Van Gogh, Delacroix and Seurat into award winning commercials.
